She had cancelled the project because the new CIO wanted to hire someone to build the tool instead of spending 76k.
The project had been requested a year prior and nothing happened.
we started the project with a vendor back and forth and we’re about to kick it off and she cancelled it.
I asked her what I should tell the business engineer. she said
“don’t tell him”
Few weeks later he emailed me.
I called him and told him that IT was going to hire someone to do it instead.
(completely stupid, actually now that i think of it, they couldn’t even get the expensify done).
there is NO way that they would have gotten that tool built in house (complex engineering tool)
so i ended up saying to him
- i shouldn’t say this but as a professional PM,
I should let you know that that’s not gonna happen in a year.
so he realized he just needed to get it done himself and thanked me.
she never even went back to the list of business applications requests
that hadn’t been done when the program manager was hired.
instead of managing the team or the department,
she just ran around left right and center all day.
